Ben Watson enters Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP as a product of the Yamaha family, having raced and enjoyed success with Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 across the last three seasons. Watson, the strongest rider that Britain has to offer currently, won two of the last four MX2 Grands Prix in the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship. Watson claimed six podium finishes during his last year in MX2 too, taking his career total to eight. The potential is clear for all to see.

Watson will spend the winter getting accustomed to the YZ450FM, before making his debut in the premier class in the 2021 FIM World Championship. Jumping into the premier class could be daunting for some, but a lot of guys (like Glenn Coldenhoff and Jeremy Seewer) have experienced immediate success on the bigger bike and Watson has looked forward to the challenge for a very long time.
